A reunion committee conference call tonight to keep the plans for our 15th rolling along. Theresa Spada ‘04 is our Alumni Office coordinator, and she’s got us focused on the class gift — 76 people have donated $8725 since June 1, 2006 — and class attendance — 29 classmates have indicated they’ll attend reunion June 22-24, but we’re aiming to beat the record of 84 at a 15-year reunion.

Watch the JCU website for the reunion schedule. If you’ve children, consider bringing them along for the Kid’s Camp ($200 per family for the whole time!). There will be babysitters during the Saturday evening class dinner, too.

Join us at the reunion. Post a comment below to tell us you’re coming back to campus this summer.

Maybe you’ve got a memory like this one:

Over at mistersugar.com, my personal blog, I tell how my youngest daughter can’t seem to go to sleep at night without my retelling a story about my freshman-year whitewater rafting trip with my Dolan Hall floormates. I and three buddies (help me remember — was it Mike Ewald, Steve Marquardt and Mike Thomas?) enjoyed a leisurely day of floating and swimming, and just before we were to take the raft out of the river, we tipped in the rapids. I lost my favorite Greek fisherman’s cap — I’d bought it on a high school trip to Milwaukee because it reminded me of a cap my grandfather, Frank the Beachcomber, used to wear — but found my soaked rugby shirt.

Share a story from those days, won’t you?

Dick Gordon, a public radio host, did a short interview with me about that last post, and as soon as his show posts the audio, I’ll link to it.

Hello fellow JCU alumni.

It has been many long years since I have been in the CLE area. I miss it. Though living in MI where I grew up has been wonderful, the economy here has taken a hit and I have been looking for a job for the last 5 months with only 2 interviews. So, I have set my sites on OH. My husband is from OH, and is very excited about moving back there. I have lots of friends from JCU that I would love to see more often too. A bunch of friends in my class of ‘92 are still in touch and it will be great to see them more often.

Any of you out there have some good job sites for OH IT jobs I can check out? I have been working as a Senior Multimedia Developer in MI for 7 years and am moving into interactive project management. I also have design skills so I have been looking for web design or interactive design, nothing here though. If anyone has some good sites or job search tips for me I would love to hear them. My e-mail is Tracy@sleeping-lion.net. And I am psyched about being back in OH. I enjoyed my time in the CLE area and am excited to get back there.

Otherwise, things with me are moving along. I have a new niece and nephew who will be 1 yr this April, and my two dogs are doing just great. Nothing else from our family. Well, back to the job hunt.

later- all -
